The custom behind the cookie.
What started as a batch of birthday cookies for a colleague at school turned into a tiny studio, a very well-loved rolling pin, and the honor of baking for hundreds of Iowa and Nebraska families' happiest days.
This sugar cookie recipe is the reason behind the name. My maiden name is Behrendt, and the sugar cookie recipe came from my great-grandma Hansen in the Behrendt Family Cook Book. John, my dad, and I spent lots of time as I was growing up baking these delicious treats. When thinking of a name, I though about just how 'very good' these cookies were, so a little play-on-words felt appropriate. The name behr-y good cookies was created.
